Let me share a story with you.
Jason is a normal guy born in a normal family. He is working in a medium company as a small staff. In today’s fast-pacing world, his salary can only maintain his daily expenses. Jason always complains to his friends about the payment he gets for his hard work.
Now, Jason is having his lunch like the other day. He eats while complains about the salary with his colleagues. When he finishes eating, he throws half of his food into dustbin and goes back to work.
Why are people wasting food? Is it because they can easily earn money? Or they did not notice the importance of eliminating wasting food action?
Food wasting situation in Malaysia
According to New Straits Times, around 8000 tonnes of food wasted daily in Malaysia is avoidable food waste. The statistics tallied by Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp) Malaysia shows that Malaysians generally produce food waste, 15000 tonnes out of 38000 tonnes per day. Moreover, the amount of wasted food during festivals will go to a higher rate. For example, 615,000 tonnes of food is estimated to be wasted during the Ramadan month in this year, reported by New Straits Times on 17 June.
On normal days, some 16,687.5 metric tonnes (same as tonnes) of food being wasted daily which could feed 12 million individuals for three times.
stated in New Straits Times
Do not waste your food
When some people are starving at the moment, some Malaysians are wasting their food. Especially for the avoidable food waste.

Government is urged to promote zero food waste campaign and all levels of the society are hoped to give cooperation. Speaking of here, I really like to express my opinion on the issue. No matter what is your identity; no matter what is you nationality; no matter you are wealthy or poor, everyone must cultivate the habit of ‘Not Wasting Food’. Like the old words: “I don’t do this, then who else?”
Start from our very own self, reduce the possibility of wasting food for any reasons especially ‘untouched food’. Influence your friends and family to do the same thing. Tell the world that it is not hard to not wasting food, it is what you desire to do. If you are so much rich, why don’t you help those in hunger? If you are not that rich, then don’t waste the food hardly produced by the farmers and herders.
Overall, it is not concerned about the wealth of a person. It is their hearts who determine what to do.
Thank you for coming today! You might want to know what action can you takes axcept for throwing the food into dustbin. Just go for another post~

Good choices of cover photo, it managed to hit the emotion of readers. the statistics are well stated and the messages of the articles are clear. There were some grammatical errors in the article but it does not influence the message of your article.I totally agree with your view at the end, your conclusion managed to convince others not to waste the food. especially the photograph of starving child, it made your readers symphatize them. Good job

Thank you! Glad that my messages reach someone in the world. I was once having meal with my friends before. When we finished and wanted to put plates and spoons/forks to specific area, he also did the same thing. The diferent is he has half of his rice that haven’t finish or you can say he almost did not eat the rice. Then, I ask him why and he replied me that he don’t like to eat rice. So, I wonder why he took the rice when he doesn’t like to eat.
I don’t know whether he was having difficulty or he just simply don’t consume rice. But, all the reasons shouldn’t be an excuse of wasting food. Not to mention that it was not the first time he did that!
